These special control joints are required in large structural wall systems, parking garages, walkways and decks where major movement may occur, to ensure longevity of the building. Horizontal joints are placed to allow the floor surfaces to move as necessary and to keep water from entering the concrete; while vertical joints are placed to allow for natural movement and settling. Cracks throughout a wall system can indicate the need for placement of an expansion joint on a horizontal or vertical substrate. Expansion joints are sealed to specifications directly related to the nature of the substrate and the environment of the joint. More importantly, the joint must be properly designed to meet the criteria of tough construction industry standards, using a movement factor based on thermal movement and wide variations in tolerances of construction materials. Joint sealants will not change volume with expansion or compression - only shape; the greater the change in shape, the greater the stress on the sealant.
Epoxy coatings are phenomenal in their scope and application. They are extremely durable, have a high VOC, are tolerant to atmospheric diversity, can stand up to heavy traffic and are virtually impervious to moisture.

uilding sealants are formulated to cure to a durable and flexible joint that accommodates movement, while maintaining an effective bond and seal between materials of similar and dissimilar surfaces, porosity, and coefficients of expansion. In all waterproofing/weatherproofing applications, it is necessary to properly seal all joints, cracks, crevices, windows, doors; including the structural and non-structural glazing of glass, metal and plastic. Caulking types are specifically designed to suit the needs of the application, whether interior, exterior, residential, commercial or industrial. Properly sealed apertures in joints, walls, walkways, and around all door and window openings will assure you a watertight seal.
METAL RUST ENCAPSULATION:
To prevent the deterioration of concrete within the structure, which is already showing signs of corrosion, we apply impregnation coatings which include corrosion inhibitors. These coatings penetrate the surface and diffuse in vapor or liquid form to the steel reinforcing bars embedded in the concrete. A protective layer is formed on the steel surface which inhibits further corrosion. Once the steel is protected, a water- and chloride-ion-repellent sealer is applied to the concrete which penetrates and closes the pores of cementitious substrates. This sealer minimizes the penetration of water and chlorides, therefore shielding the embedded rebars from these liquids. After proper preparation, all failing concrete is removed, and rebar is properly treated, a waterproofing coating can be applied that will protect the structure from absorbing atmospheric influences without acting as a vapor barrier, and provide you with a pleasing aesthetic appearance.
An economical option to coating any concrete surface is to apply a concrete stain. Simply, stain doesn‘t peel. Even though staining doesn‘t provide the complete weatherproofing attributes of other specialized coatings, it will provide you with adequate waterproofing protection when applied with proper building sealants.
In certain circumstances, epoxy injections can be useful in sealing small cracks, grouting, as a pick-proof sealant for windows and doors, and in preventative maintenance to seal off reinforcing steel from the elements of corrosion. Vertical columns that are repaired using an epoxy injection will be stronger than when initially installed.

Even though pressure washing can sometimes be enough to spruce up your building, before any restorative work can be completed on your structure, you want your surfaces to be clean and free of any and all mildew, dirt, and debris.
